Frequently Asked Questions
Symphony Series concerts last about 2 hours (including intermission), and Chamber Music Series concerts last about an hour.
Many who attend our concerts are on vacation and may have spent the day at the beach, on a boat, biking, cross-country skiing, or hiking. Attire is everything from casual to dressy, so just be comfortable. Jeans to dresses, shorts to suits — the music sounds great no matter what you wear!
The Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion has a private lot with additional street parking if necessary.
The Door Community Auditorium is adjacent to Gibraltar School. Due to construction at the Gibraltar School, we anticipate parking will be challenging this season. Carpooling is highly recommended when possible. People with mobility issues may park at the YMCA across from the Gibraltar field and may take a free shuttle to the venue. The shuttle will run from 6:30-7:30 and for 45 minutes after the performance.
Parking at Top of the Hill shops will also be available. As of now, we do not know if the Annex across the street will be available. There are a limited number of handicapped spots directly in front of the venue. Please call the office at 920-854-4060 or email diane@musicfestival.com with any questions.
Ushers for the Symphony Series will begin seating patrons 45 minutes before the 7:30 pm performances. For Chamber Music Series and Recital Series concerts, doors open 30 minutes before.
Yes, the DCA and Kress are air-conditioned. We do our best to adjust temperatures to keep everyone comfortable, however we have found that layering is best, as sometimes it can get warm in the DCA. There is a water bottle filler in the lobby for your convenience. It’s also a good idea to bring a light wrap just in case!
Yes; however, there is no elevator to the balcony at the Door Community Auditorium, so please select your seats accordingly. Please call the Festival office to make special arrangements for early admittance if you need assistance.
Wisconsin is one of the few states that charges sales tax on non-profit performing arts organization ticket sales. Whether you purchase your tickets online, by phone, or don’t even live in Wisconsin, the sales tax applies because you will attend a live performance in Wisconsin when the concert is performed.
This pre-order fee helps cover credit card company fees charged to the Festival and the costs associated with printing and mailing patron tickets.
This per-ticket fee is collected at the request of the Door Community Auditorium. The DCA receives the fees at the end of the Symphony Series in August. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Auditorium at (920) 868-2728.
Yes, our offices are open year-round, and in addition to the Symphony Series in August, we present Chamber Music concerts throughout the year as well as Special Programs featuring Door County’s talented musicians.
