In 1953, Lorenz Heise and Kay Wilson established the Peninsula Music Festival under the artistic leadership of Thor Johnson.

Today, over fifty years later, the Festival is still keeping the vision of these founders alive. You can too, by following in their footsteps and making the Peninsula Music Festival a beneficiary in your will.

Each of these people, and many others, have made sure that the Festival was and is remembered in their will. They knew that a great orchestra needs a great endowment, providing a steady stream of income through the interest it provides.

Give The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

Numerous donors over the past ten years have stepped forward to make contributions to the Peninsula Music Festival Endowment Campaign. Those gifts have helped to raise an endowment of over $3.2 million to carry the Festival into the future.

Many of the Festival's supporters have included the PMF in their estate planning. In recognition of their vision and their leadership, the PMF has established the Thor Johnson Legacy Society. This Society honors those who have included the PMF in their wills or who have established other deferred gifts that name the PMF as a beneficiary.

Legacy Society Membership is available to anyone who informs the PMF that they have included the Festival in their will or anyone who has made the Festival a beneficiary of any other form of deferred gift.

How Does One Make A Gift That Keeps On Giving?

The Festival has an Endowment Fund held at Vanguard and managed by our trustees, for just that purpose - the Thor Johnson Endowment Trust - started with a gift from the Estate of Thor Johnson.

Your legacy gift to the Festival's Endowment Fund will be invested and 5% of the interest only used each year by the Peninsula Music Festival to continue its work.

Gifts can take the form of an outright gift now or through the Legacy Society. Either way, your gift is invested in the Festival's irrevocable Thor Johnson Endowment Trust to ensure the future of this great orchestra.
