Jennifer Startt, violin

Jennifer Startt has been a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra since 1990 and became the orchestra’s Principal Second Violin in 2008. She has soloed with the MSO on numerous occasions in Milwaukee and throughout the state, and is an active chamber musician and private teacher in the Milwaukee area. Additionally, she has played in the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra in Door County since 2009.

Ms. Startt is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was a student of Aaron Rosand. She also studied violin with Rosemary Malocsay, Linda Cerone and Robert Lipsett, as well as chamber music with Felix Galimir, Jascha Brodsky, and Orlando Cole.

A founding member of the New World Symphony (Miami, FL), she worked extensively with conductor Michael Tilson Thomas. Additional orchestral studies included the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the National Repertory Orchestra. Prior to joining the Milwaukee Symphony she was a member of the Florida Philharmonic and the Buffalo Philharmonic.
