Bill Wiggins, tympani


Nashville native Bill Wiggins has served the Nashville Symphony as timpanist since 1969. In 2001, he premiered Daniel Sturm's “Concerto Art Nouveau for Timpani and Orchestra” with the Nashville Symphony. In addition to performing with the NSO, he regularly performs with the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, and has performed with the Scotia Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and with the Sewanee Summer Music Center in Tennessee.

Bill is currently a member of the Blair Chamber Players at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where he is also associate professor of timpani and percussion, and coordinator of the PreCollege program. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from George Peabody College and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University.

Bill is married to Gay Hollins Wiggins a Music Specialist with the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.
