Mr. Gintov performed the Beethoven Piano Concerto #4 on Tuesday's opening night program. This is his third appearance at the PMF having visited in 2008 and 2010.

The Barber of Seville Overture was first performed at the Festival in 1953 and most recently in 1969, both conducted by Thor Johson. Grieg's Piano Concerto was first heard at PMF in 1958 with Grant Johannsesen, piano, and Thor Johnson conducting and most recently in 2007 with Miri Yampolsky, piano, and Stephen Alltop conducting. Tchaikovsky's First Symphony was first performed at PMF in 1999 and most recently in 2010, both conducted by Victor Yampolsky. Program notes for this concert...
