The 2017 Season opens with the first PMF performance of the rousing Berlioz Roman Carnival Overture.
Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto was first performed at the PMF in 1954 with pianist Grant Johannesen and Thor Johnson conducting. The most recent performance was in 2009 with Lilya Zilberstein and Victor Yampolsky. This is Jon Kimura Parker's first appearance at the Peninsula Music Festival.
The Brahms First Serenade was first performed at PMF in 1956 with Thor Johnson conducting and most recently in 1989 conducted by Victor Yampolsky.
