Victor Yampolsky's Journey from the Soviet Union
In January 2009, Victor Yampolsky, Music Director of the Peninsula Music Festival, told the story of his meeting Leonard Bernstein in Rome and how he came to the USA. That series of events occured after he left the Soviet Union.
In January 2010, Maestro Yampolsky agreed to describe the events leading to and surrounding his leaving the USSR. These events occured just before the meetings and developments in Rome described earlier. The story is devided into six parts.
