NEW LEADERSHIP FOR THE YOUTH STRING PROGRAM!

It is my pleasure to announce, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the PMF, that as of May 31, the Peninsula Music Festival will hand over the direction and operation of the Youth String Program to the new entity being formed by a dedicated group of String Committee members and parents. Under their leadership, the String Program will be able to grow and realize its full potential.

As you know, this program has been serving the youth of Door County for twelve years under the umbrella of the Peninsula Music Festival. It is a program that I am very proud to have been instrumental in beginning. When the initial planning took place, there were very high hopes, dreams and expectations for the Youth String Program. Many of those goals have been realized, but as a separate entity, the Youth String Program can really soar!

The new group is busy forming an entity to which the Peninsula Music Festival can turn over the instruments, music and other resources necessary for the new organization to run the string program effectively.

The Peninsula Music Festival will do everything possible to make this transition smooth and will continue to support this newly formed string program. I hope you will join me in this continued support and lend a hand where you can to make this transition a reality.
